Vice/Narcotics

The Council Bluffs Police VICE / NARCOTICS UNIT is currently staffed with five detectives, one Sergeant, and one Lieutenant. It is responsible for the investigation of all narcotic related cases received through citizen calls and tips. All detectives work on an undercover capacity, making their job one of the most high-risk positions on the Department.

The VICE / NARCOTICS Unit has been part of a multi-agency task force since 1995. The task force is made up of officers from the Council Bluffs Police Department, Glenwood Police Department, Pottawattamie County Sheriffs Department, Mills County Sheriffs Department, and the Harrison County Sheriffs Department.

The Southwest Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Task Force since its inception has been committed to providing quality and professional drug investigative services that promotes a safe and secure community. We are committed to creating and maintaining active investigations to identify and recognize problems to improve the quality of life within the community. The Task Force aggressively seeks to identify and pursue for apprehension, any drug dealers in our three county areas through various investigative techniques and our pro-active approach to enforcing the laws. Without the help of citizens through tips from crimestoppers and the Drug Hotline our job would be much harder.

Our task force is very interested in any information another agency or private citizen may have which would make us aware of crimes that have occurred in our three county area, or information on any current investigations. This information can either be called in to our crimestoppers line, 712-328-STOP, the Drug Hotline 712-323-7688, or directly to the VICE / NARCOTICS UNIT, 712-328-4712, Voice mail is available.
